A day of inspiring discussions about how
involvement and leadership in the Yale alumni community
can enrich the lives of participants and
drive meaningful change locally and globally.

We invite out-of-town alumni who are interested in developing programming for their home communities to join us as well.

9:30 - 10:15 am - AYA Strategic Plan: Ambassadors for Yale

10:15 - 10:45 - Yale Day of Service

10:45 - 11:15 Morning Break

11:15 - 12:30: Mission
- Discerning mission and identifying priorities
- "Club" vs. nonprofit dynamics

12:30 - 1:30 Lunch* and socializing

1:30 - 2:15: Volunteer Motivation and Management
- Why alumni volunteer—needs and expectations
- Recruitment and retention strategies
- Succession planning

2:15 - 3:30: Programming Ideas Break-out discussions:
- Community Service / Yale Day of Service
- Networking/Social
- Lifelong Learning
- Ritual/Holiday/Family
- Other groups based on participant interest

3:30 - 4pm Afternoon Break

4 - 5:00pm - Open Discussion and Wrap-up
